Join Sportspectrum for the 42nd annual Firecracker 5K Race for Research in Shreveport, Louisiana on Saturday, July 4th, 2026, featuring a 5K starting at 8:00 a.m. and a kids' 1/2 mile fun run at 7:30 a.m. (all young finishers receive medals). Registration costs $25 before May 1st, $30 through July 3rd, or $40 on race day—save $5 by declining a race shirt—while the kids' fun run is $15 before June 30th and $20 after. The scenic 5K route begins and ends at the Mall St. Vincent Parking Lot behind Sears, taking you through the historic South Highland neighborhood for a challenging experience suited to runners, walkers, and sightseers alike.
