Head to Barkhamsted, CT for this community fundraiser that benefits the local elementary school, featuring a scenic out-and-back 5K with mostly flat terrain and just a couple of hills as you run along the Farmington River and through People's State Forest. The event includes registration from 8-9:15 am with the main race starting at 9:30 am, followed by a kids' 1-mile fun run at 10:30 am, plus you'll get a free t-shirt if you register by May 15th and medals go to first-place winners in each division. Enjoy free parking at Barkhamsted Elementary School on Ripley Hill Road, keeping in mind that pets, roller blades, and bicycles aren't allowed at the venue.
