Conclusion: Schwinn 830 vs Schwinn 870

For the majority of people, the Schwinn 830 is a reasonable buy, and the extra cost of the Schwinn 870 is hard to justify.

Unless you are someone who is training heavily for long periods of time, or needs the extra incline to train for off-road running courses, you’d surely be more than satisfied with what the Schwinn 830 has to offer.

The 5” difference in length for the running belt would only impact runners who are reaching sprint speeds for a long period of time, or for runners over 6’ tall who have a longer stride.

Cushioning is an important factor for those runners who are injury prone or recovering. The heavier tread belt and more advanced cushioning may be worth the extra money to reduce your risk of injury.

Like any other purchase, the best option for you is going to depend entirely on what is most important to you.

Once you know the priorities for your treadmill features, you’ll have a much easier time deciding whether you like the Schwinn 830 or Schwinn 870 more.

Either way, you’ll be happy!
