# McDowell 5K & Fun Run

Get ready to run through over 1,100 acres of gorgeous Alabama landscape right next to the Bankhead National Forest—whether you're a camp regular, curious newcomer, or just looking for a scenic race destination! The 5K course offers the best of both worlds with mostly trails mixed in with some road sections, plenty of shady spots to keep you cool, and all proceeds go toward supporting outdoor experiences for future campers at the McDowell Environmental Center. It's the perfect race to enjoy nature while helping out an amazing local cause!
