This memorial run honors Jarid Taylor, a Bryan County Sheriff's Deputy who tragically lost his life in a car accident while responding to a 911 call on January 14, 2020. Beyond his dedication to law enforcement, Jarid was a devoted father of two who enjoyed deer hunting, cheering on OU football, and making those around him laugh with his great sense of humor. Race proceeds support OK C.O.P.S., which provides resources to families and colleagues of fallen officers (over $20,000 has been donated in Jarid's name), and fund the Jarid Taylor Heart of a Hero award given to one police academy cadet at each CLEET and KTC graduation.
