Kick off Independence Day 2025 with Grayson County Parks and Recreation and Blue Devil Cross Country boosters at their 11th annual 5K on July 4th in Independence, VA—featuring a new course that's back for another year with medium/hard difficulty and rolling hills. You can also tackle the super-fast downhill mile (running before the 5K), which takes advantage of the course's slight descent to help you snag a personal record. Registration is $25 for either race or $30 for both, with race day check-in from 7:00-7:45 AM, the mile starting at 7:45 AM, and the 5K around 8:10 AM, leaving you time to catch the 10:00 AM Independence Parade.
