This Vashon, WA race honors two important community members while keeping alive traditions from the Island Strawberry Festival. The event celebrates Bill Burby, a former VHS health teacher and coach who inspired countless students to live healthily until his passing in 1989, as well as Ryan Krug, a devoted high school runner who tragically died in 2013. Proceeds from the race support local sports programs and scholarships on the island.
