Join the 8th annual Aaron Butler Memorial Purple Heart Run on Saturday, August 15th, 2026 at Eagle Island State Park in Eagle, ID, where you can choose between a 5K, 10K, or the signature Unknown Distance Run (ranging from 400M to 50K—the final distance stays a mystery until you cross the finish line!). This community-focused trail running event honors fallen service members with routes featuring photos and stories of those who gave their lives, and welcomes runners of all paces—walking is totally fine and there's no chip timing or competitive pressure. A youth 5K is also available for runners 16 and under, celebrating the event's commitment to youth leadership development through service.
