ProForm 9000 vs NordicTrack C 1750

When you start considering a treadmill purchase, your research will quickly reveal that ProForm and NordicTrack are owned and operated by the same company.

This can make it difficult to choose between the ProForm 9000 and NordicTrack C 1750 because they are so similar.

In this review, we will show you the things these two machines have in common, as well as how they are different, so you can decide which machine is better suited for your fitness goals.

I have owned both so I am speaking from a point of experience. I purchased both for about 50% of retail, used treadmills are an expensive way to grab a treadmill that is gently used.

Since these are basically the same, the Proform 9000 is a my choice. However, if you want to stream music from your phone to the treadmill, the 1750 is your choice.

They are also both iFit enabled, meaning you can engage with personal trainers, an online community, and programmed video workouts directly from your treadmill if you have an iFit subscription.

Some of the programmed workouts include runs through historic locations, beautiful destinations, and exotic places.

When you use this feature, the screen will display your surroundings vividly so you can explore the world from the comfort of your home.

Although it may be obvious, it is worth noting that when you use the programmed workouts or the iFit training options, the ramp features are automated so the incline, decline, and speed of your workout change to meet speed, distance, calorie or intensity goals you, your streamed workout, or your personal trainer have set.

As far as training options are concerned, the ProForm 9000 and NordicTrack C 1750 are basically the same. If you are most excited about joining the iFit community, either of these treadmills will be great for you.

Mechanics:

The ProForm 9000 and the NordicTrack C 1750 feature 22” x 60” tread belts. There is a difference in the cushioning options available for each machine. The ProForm 9000 has ProShox cushioning to help reduce shock and absorb impact.

Meanwhile, the NordicTrack C 1750 has FlexSelect cushioning technology that allows you to choose the level of cushion on your running deck.

The ProForm 9000 treadmill has an impressive 4.25 CHP Mach Z Commercial Pro motor, which will be able to keep up with your long runs, interval training, and any heavy use.

Proform 9000 - side view

Although still considering a large motor, the NordicTrack C 1750 has a smaller motor than the ProForm 9000 at only 3.6 CHP. The maximum user weight is 300 pounds for both machines.

ProForm PRO-9000 Treadmill

Motor size is an important factor in choosing the treadmill that’s correct for you. In this case, the ProForm 9000 is the better treadmill. This is crucial for people who are expecting to train intensely or for long periods of time.

On the other hand, cushioning is also a critical decision point. Both treadmills offer superior cushioning, but the fact that the NordicTrack C 1750 has customizable cushioning is a real selling point for people who want their level of cushioning to mimic the conditions they are training for.

This can be a great benefit for people who are training for a road-running event because they can reduce the amount of cushioning on their treadmill so their body isn’t shocked the day of the race.

NordicTrack Commercial Series 1750 Treadmill - incline

On the other hand, if that same runner finds they need to nurse an injury, they could easily increase the amount of cushioning on their treadmill. Only you can decide whether you value motor size or cushioning options more.

If the C 1750 is a little bit too much for your budget, NordicTrack makes a C 1650 which has a slightly lower incline and a 2" smaller (width wise) belt. You can check out the differences in this comparison

Extra Features:

In this battle; ProForm 9000 v NordicTrack C 1750: Both machines offer built-in, touch-screen, full color 10” Smart displays that show your speed, time, distance, calories burned, heart rate and incline/decline stats.

The display also shows your iFit workouts so you don’t need to use any extra devices to stream your videos.

The ProForm 9000 has two cup holders, an auxiliary port, two 3” speakers, a tablet holder, dual coolaire workout fans, and handlebar heart rate monitor. For an even more in-depth analysis of the features of the ProForm Pro 9000 here is a complete review

This machine also comes with a wireless chest heart rate monitor, which will more accurately and consistently measure your heart rate than the EKG pulse grips on the handlebars.

The NordicTrack C 1750 has high-quality speakers, an adjustable tablet holder, two cup holders, an auxiliary port, Bluetooth smart capabilities, and a workout fan.

Like the training options, the ProForm 9000 and NordicTrack C 1750 are very similar in the “extra features” category.  The biggest difference is that the ProForm 9000 includes the wireless chest heart rate monitor strap.

Also, the NordicTrack C 1750 has Bluetooth capabilities. Again, only you can decide which of these features are most important to you.

Warranty:

Since they are manufactured by the same company, we aren’t surprised to find out that both the ProForm 9000 and NordicTrack C 1750 offer the same warranty: lifetime frame and motor warranty, a 5-year parts warranty, and a 2-year labor warranty.

The ProForm 9000 and NordicTrack C 1750 are practically identical. If you value motor size, the ProForm 9000 will be your best bet. If you want to choose your level of running deck cushioning, the NordicTrack C 1750 will be better for you.

Other decisions could be between the included wireless chest heart rate monitor on the ProForm 9000 or the Bluetooth capabilities on the NordicTrack C 1750. Both of these machines are highly rated and reviewed, so we’re sure you’ll be happy with whichever you decide to bring home.
