This article will provide an in-depth look and review three of Features most iconic running socks: Elite Ultra Light No Show Tab, Elite Light Cushion No Show Tab & Elite Max Cushion No Show Tab

Elite Ultra Light No Show Tab

If you are seeking one of the sleekest socks with a “barely there” feeling on your feet, then the Elite Ultra Light socks are a great choice to check out.

I love how these socks are crafted with an anatomical design and targeted compression for close to a custom feeling fit individual to each runner. Basically they are snug but not too tight on my feet. They are also super comfy.

You know how socks that don't fit feel like you are stretching your feet, these do not do tat.

Ultra-light and lean sock designs like this one can reduce the risk of blisters for some people, and because it is so lean, those who tend to fill out the inside of a shoe will like this choice, as it takes up minimal room inside your shoe.

On the other hand, as someone with a narrow foot and low volume instep, I rely on a thicker sock to fill out my shoe for greater comfort. This Ultra Light design was not for me, as I found myself having far too much space in the shoe for my liking.

I acknowledge that I am in the minority here, as most of the others who wear features definitely prefer this thin, ultra-light design.

  • Targeted Compression and anatomical design provide an unmatched Custom-Like Fit.
  • Our thinnest cushion option provides a lighter, cooler feel.
  • Anatomical design enhances fit, delivering maximum comfort and protection by eliminating blisters.
  • The Perfect Toe®. (No irritating toe seam.)
  • No Show Tab height sits below the ankle for maximum versatility.

Elite Light Cushion No Show Tab

Ever read the child’s book Goldilocks and the Three Bears?

When there was always something that was “just right”, well Feetures may have made it with the Elite Light Cushion socks here.

A comfortable blend of fabric made from 96% Nylon and 4% Spandex, it feels like there is a strategically placed cushion in the toes and heel area that seems to work just right.

This sock shares many of the same design features as the Elite Ultra Light, but with that added benefit of some Light Cushion for added impact protection and filling out your shoes just a little better.

It felt like I could pretty much wear this sock for anything from race day to a super slow and easy training run. They have just enough cushion to provide some extra pad where I like it, but not so much to wear it feels overly plush.

I suffer from fairly bad plantar facsiitis, wearing these socks have provided some cushion to relieve some pain especially but these are not my top pick for this type of support.

They are my top pick due to the quality as they are not too heavy, they are comfortable, they keep my feet dry and are blister preventing.

  • Targeted Compression and anatomical design provide an unmatched Custom-Like Fit.
  • High density cushioning provides cushioned comfort without the bulk.
  • Anatomical design enhances fit, delivering maximum comfort and protection by eliminating blisters.
  • The Perfect Toe®. (No irritating toe seam.)
  • No Show Tab height sits below the ankle for maximum versatility.

Elite Max Cushion No Show Tab

We will waste no time with this one.

If you are someone who enjoys a premium or plush feeling sock while running, then the Elite Max Cushion sock should be a go-to staple of your training.

These are ridiculously comfortable to just walk around in, much less for a long run. The padding runs through the entire bottom of the sock, with even more placed around the toes and heel areas.

What’s even better is that the presence of a cushion does not take away from the incredible breathability. I never felt like my foot was suffocating inside the sock, even on warmer days on the hot concrete.

Furthermore, I found this version really helps me fill out my shoes in a way in which I like. It compensates for my lower in-step volume to reduce any possible sliding, rubbing, or hot spots from showing up.

I would not wear these for racing, as they feel too thick for what I am looking for, but for many, I can see this being a great sock for longer races like marathons and ultra-marathons, when you will be on your feet for a long time.

When you think of blister preventing socks, these are the most comparable to Balega

What Feetures Elite Sock is Best for You?

There seems to be something for everyone with this Feetures Elite lineup.

Most racers tend to prefer a thin sock that will be just enough to protect the feet without anything extra. Those with a high volume instep also tend to prefer a super thin sock that does not take up any unnecessary space within the shoe.

For those circumstances, the Ultra Light sock would seem to be the best option.

I have liked these for bigger workouts as well, when my workout flats fit much tighter and are more responsive on the ground it is nice to have a sock that hugs my foot and does not cause any rubbing or slipping.

That being said, most of the time I find myself grabbing the Light Cushion socks for most of my day-to-day running, as they just work in pretty much any scenario I can come up with to put them through. Road, trail, easy runs, workouts, you name it and this sock can do it comfortably.

On the days where I really just want to feel 100% comfort, then of course I opt for the Max Cushion socks, as they are plush in all of the right places.

Hard to go wrong with this one for easy runs, long runs, and longer races.

Conclusion

If you are in the market for some dedicated running socks and want to try what are possibly the best of the best, then the Feetures Elite lineup is a great place to start.

It is hard to go wrong with any version, but it ultimately comes down to your personal preference of sock cushioning level.

One this is for certain though, no matter which one you choose you will experience plenty of high-performance comfort and ventilation. Have fun!
