Training Options:

Both the NordicTrack C 1650 and ProForm 2000 feature huge ranges of training options, though they differ slightly.

The ProForm 2000 has -3%-15% decline and incline and speeds of up to 12 MPH, and the NordicTrack C 1650 has an incline range from 0%-12% and speeds of up to 12 MPH.

While both treadmills offer iFit functions, the NordicTrack C 1650 is iFit enabled, whereas the ProForm 2000 is iFit compatible. The NordicTrack C 1650 is iFit enabled so you can use the touchscreen digital display to access all the functions of iFit.

NordicTrack C 1650 Treadmill

For the NordicTrack C 1650, some of the programmed workouts include runs through historic locations, beautiful destinations, and exotic places that you’ll get to see because the treadmill has a tv-like display.

In case you are curious, the NordicTrack 1750 is the next level up from the 1650, it's a more commercial grade treadmill. If you are looking for a slightly wider running surface and a little higher incline, you read more about it here

The ProForm 2000 is iFit compatible, which means you can synch your machine to iFit, but you will need to access it from another tablet or computer.

ProForm 2000 Treadmill

For both of these treadmills, when you use the programmed workouts or the iFit training options, the ramp features are automated so the incline, decline, and speed of your workout change to meet speed, distance, calorie or intensity goals you, your streamed workout, or your personal trainer have set.

You can get practically the same workouts on the NordicTrack C 1650 and the ProForm 2000. Although both machines have 32 on-board fitness workouts available, you will have an endless supply of streaming workouts if you choose to subscribe to iFit.

The way iFit is accessed differs on each of these machines, so for users who are most excited about the Google Maps or workout video technologies through iFit, the NordicTrack C 1650 will be the better choice because of the built-in display.

Although you can access the same features with the ProForm 2000, you will need to use a mobile device to do so. This could be seen as either a minor inconvenience or a major hindrance, depending on your personality and workout habits.

The NordicTrack C 1650 is considered superior to the ProForm 2000 training options only in the fact that it is iFit enabled instead of capable. The ProForm 2000 features a greater decline and incline range than the NordicTrack C 1650.

If you are someone who prefers a basic workout routine with manual options, or maybe someone who just wants to use iFit for long term stat tracking, the ProForm 2000 would be better than the NordicTrack C 1650 for you.

If, on the other hand, you want to engage with personal trainers, join workout classes, watch workout videos, and explore the world with Google Maps, the NordicTrack C 1650 is better than the ProForm 2000.

I would also point out the Proform F80 has some of the same bells and whistles but the C 1650 out performs it in many categories. Some runners live and die by Proform and other really like NordicTrack

Mechanics:

The NordicTrack C 1650 and the ProForm 2000 feature 20” x 60” tread belts. The ProForm 2000 has ProShox cushioning to help reduce shock and absorb impact, whereas the NordicTrack C 1650 has FlexSelect Cushioning so you can decide exactly how much cushioning you want for your treadmill.

NordicTrack C 1650 Treadmill

Both machines feature 3.5 CHP motors. The maximum user weight is 300 pounds for the NordicTrack C 1650, whereas the ProForm 2000 can support a maximum user weight of 350 pounds.

Aside from weight limits, the mechanics of the NordicTrack C 1650 and ProForm 2000 are nearly identical. The FlexSelect cushioning gives the NordicTrack C 1650 a unique customization option that isn’t available on the ProForm 2000. Truth be told, the NordicTrackC 1650 was a top choice for those who would like a quiet treadmill in their apartment.

ProForm Pro 2000 Treadmill Includes a 1-Year iFit Membership ($396 value) A True Club Membership with World-class Personal Training in the Comfort of Your Home

People who do not want cushioning because they are training for a road course may find this feature helpful in acclimating their body to the harsher conditions of outdoor running.

If you want cushioning all the time, you would not really find any special benefit in having a cushioning option on your treadmill.

ProForm Pro 2000 Treadmill
  • 3.25 CHP Mach Z Commercial Pro Motor
  • -3 to 15 percent Quick Decline/Incline Control
  • FS2 Full Surface Suspension Cushioning
  • IFit Live Technology Compatible
  • Rated as a 'Best Buy' from a leading consumer magazine

Extra Features:

The NordicTrack C 1650 offers an impressive 10” web-enabled touchscreen, you’ll be able to see your speed, time, distance, calories burned, heart rate, incline and decline with a quick glance.

When you use the Google Maps feature, you’ll be able to see the world in beautiful clarity as you run along your predesigned routes. For iFit functions, you’ll actually be able to stream your workouts to keep you motivated.

It will feel like the trainer is in the room with you, just for you. If you choose to connect your console to your WiFi, you can even browse the internet on this full color display. Since the screen is touchscreen enabled, it is also your control panel to help you customize your workout.

NordicTrack C 1650 Treadmill

Standard features of the NordicTrack C 1650 treadmill include an adjustable tablet holder, two cup holders, an auxiliary port, Bluetooth smart capabilities, two 2” speakers, and an AutoBreeze workout fan.

The ProForm 2000 has a 7” Backlit display that shows your speed, time, distance, calories burned, heart rate and incline/decline stats. The ProForm 2000 have two cup holders, an auxiliary port, two 3” speakers, an extra accessory tray, an AutoBreeze workout fan, and handlebar heart rate monitors.

The ProForm 2000 also includes a wireless chest heart rate monitor, which will more accurately and consistently measure your heart rate than the EKG pulse grips on the handlebars.

Considering the NordicTrack C 1650 treadmill offers a touch-screen smart display and the ProForm 2000 has a digital display, it’s shocking that the ProForm 2000 doesn’t have a tablet holder.

ProForm Pro 2000 Treadmill Includes a 1-Year iFit Membership ($396 value) A True Club Membership with World-class Personal Training in the Comfort of Your Home

If you’re planning to use iFit on the ProForm 2000, you have to use a mobile device, tablet, or computer, so it would make more sense for that machine to have the tablet holder.

With the tablet holder on the NordicTrack C 1650, you are using it only for entertainment purposes, since you have full iFit accessibility from the display.

Warranty

The NordicTrack C 1650 treadmill and the ProForm 2000 are guaranteed with a lifetime frame and motor warranty, a 5-year parts warranty, and a 2-year labor warranty, which gives us confidence that these machines can be a reliable staple in your workout routine.

Only you can decide if the extra cost of the NordicTrack C 1650 is worthwhile to you. Here are the extra features the NordicTrack C 1650 offers over the ProForm 2000:

-              iFit enabled touchscreen display

-              dual CoolAire workout fans

-              tablet holder

If you are most excited for the iFit functions, we would recommend the NordicTrack C 1650 over the ProForm 2000. If you are just planning to use your treadmill for general workouts that you design, then there is no need to spend extra money on the NordicTrack C 1650.

If you weigh between 300-350 pounds, the ProForm 2000 will be a better fit for you because it supports users in that weight range.
